Vaccinate NY Customer Service Representative

We are immediately hiring individuals to fulfill various non-clinical responsibilities related to the public distribution of COVID-19 vaccines at NYSDOH Point of Distribution (POD) sites, local health departments, and other health care providers engaged in the COVID-19 vaccination effort. You will be the public face of the New York vaccine distribution effort by greeting the public as they enter the site, assisting them with registration, and helping them navigate where to go throughout their visit.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community and help the state in an important way. Once at the POD, individuals may switch between several roles including: Check-In Staff, Greeter, Registration Attendant, and Flow Controller. There will be paid video training and orientation prior to starting work.

Responsibilities Include:
• Provide initial greeting of public entering the POD and provide recipients with initial actions and directions to stations within POD based on triage questions/protocol.
• Request all public to wear an appropriate mask and instruct on tips for social distancing in the POD.
• Assist the public as needed in completing registration ensuring to maintain social distance.
• Help public through the POD directing as needed to appropriate stations, ensuring recipients go to stations which are open and not busy, and maintain social distancing
• Ensure sign-in and sign-out of all staff and volunteers assigned to the POD
• Support other critical record-keeping and documentation activities as assigned by the Planning & Administration Chief.
• Maintain inventory control on all issuable equipment provided to staff upon check-in, noting gaps and issues with Planning & Administration Chief and Logistics Staff.
Skills/Requirements
• High School diploma or GED
• Skills in writing and reporting information
• Two years of customer-facing work experience such as: restaurant host/hostess, captain, waitstaff, bartender, retail floor workers, hotel front desk or concierge staff; receptionists or customer service agents, flight attendants, check-in or gate personnel, tour guides, teachers, gym greeters, casino and racetrack hosts or similar positions.
